Teaching Understanding with Technology
Spring 2012

This class was taught by Nancy Ayers and focused on tools and resources available online to help with teaching and learning. Proper integration of tools was a strong portion of the course.

Applying Educational Technology to Practice
Summer 2012

This class was taught by Nancy Ayers and focused on the the various applications and solutions used in a K-12 setting for educational solutions. Many technologies were evaluated and assessed for effectiveness. I participated in a group project about interactive Wii Whiteboards. You can view the presentation here.

Learning in School and Other Settings

Fall 2012

This class was taught by Danah Henricksen and focused on how people learn in various settings. It examined how we develop scaffolding and fixate on pre-existing knowledge in learning and teaching. One of my favorite assignments can be viewed here.

Technology and Leadership

Spring 2013

This class was taught by Luke Rapa and focused on the planning and implementation of technological solutions to problems. Specific considerations were given to the process of evaluting the effectiveness of the solutions. The project I worked on was to improve a local school's science fair. The final paper I wrote can be viewed here and the website I developed for it can also be viewed here.

Capstone Educational Technology
Summer 2013

This course was taught by Matthew Koehler and focused on developing this website to showcase the work developed in the MAET program.

Adapting Innovative Technology to Education
Spring 2012

This class was taught by Susan Wright and focused on the latest and greatest technology based solutions to educational problems that applied the appropriate pedagological approaches. Interactive and innovative web 2.0 tools were explored.

Teaching K12 Students Online
Summer 2012

This class was taught by Anne Heintz and focused on K-12 curriculum development. Special considerations were given for asynchronous teaching online. In this class I created an online course regarding Food Systems, Nutrition and Gardening. Although this was an incredibly challenging class for a non-teacher, it was also extremely rewarding.

Creativity in Teaching and Learning

Fall 2012

This class was taught by Punya Mishra and focused on the topic of creativity in teaching and learning. Special regard was given to multiple representation of ideas. One of the projects I developed during this course was an elevator pitch for creativity in teaching and can be viewed here.

Learning Technology Through Design

Spring 2013

This class was taught by Punya Mishra and focused on the complete design of educational tools. By using an iterative and collaborative process, a special educational website called "Together Kids Can" was developed (by me) in this course that examined every aspect of design from technical to functional to aesthetics.

Approaches to Educational Research
Summer 2013

This course was taught by E. David Wong and examined alternative methods for research in education. As a project for the class I explored my personal interest in gamification in education to perform a literature review.
